About Unito
What is Unito?
Unito is a Montreal-based SaaS workflow-automation platform whose mission is "to unite work." Co-founded in October 2016 by Marc Boscher (CEO) and Eryk Warren (CTO), the company builds two-way, no-code integrations between the dozens of tools modern teams use every day. The product began with automated two-way syncing between GitHub and Wrike; today the platform offers 60+ connectors including featured integrations with Asana, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and Smartsheet — and is trusted by Fortune 500 companies. HubSpot, one customer cited on the careers site, "saves $595K/year with Unito."
The company is backed by a $10.5M Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners and a $20M Series B. It was named by Québec Tech as one of nine Québec-based technology companies to receive the Stage Vmax distinction, dedicated to companies generating between CA$2.5M and CA$15M in revenue. CFO and VP Business Operations Marie-Rose Rioux has been profiled by Fast Company for the company's approach to pay equity.
Where will I work?
Unito is "proudly Montreal-based" and operates a hybrid model — work remotely for part of the week, with regular in-office gatherings at the company's downtown Montreal office. The office is described on the careers page as "open-plan, vibrant" and as "located in the heart of downtown" with a "fully stocked beer fridge." Hiring is local-only: "We only hire locally. If you're not a Montrealer yet, we can be flexible while you move — and advise you on the immigration side!"
What is the Unito team like?
The team is small-ish, close-knit, and built around community, transparency, and growth. The careers page lists hobby groups ranging from jam bands to D&D to rock-climbing. Executives are parents, so the workplace is described as "absolutely parent-friendly." On gender diversity, 40% of executive roles are held by women, and the company adjusts salaries continuously to keep the gender pay gap in check, particularly for roles traditionally dominated by women. Transparency is a stated cultural pillar: "Everyone gets the same monthly updates our CEO sends to investors. Salaries are fully transparent, and everyone has access to all company metrics." The company also publishes a public Better Workplace Toolkit, including its compensation matrix template and remote-work framework.
Work-Life Balance
The careers page emphasises flexibility — "Work remotely for part of the week so your schedule stays flexible" — and the Better Workplace Toolkit Unito published in 2021 explicitly references optional four-day work weeks, weekend swap days, and "availability hours in lieu of firm workday hours." Glassdoor testimonials reproduced on the careers page note that the high-growth environment means employees "need to be comfortable with constant change" and find their own pace for work-life balance within a flexible framework.
Perks and Benefits
The hiring process is distinctive and benefit-bearing in itself: Phone screen → Interview → Pilot → Offer. The paid pilot is a real Unito project that the candidate works on with the team — "you get paid for the work you put in, even if we don't end up hiring you." Beyond that, Unito frames its rewards through transparent salaries, market-driven yearly increases, regular growth conversations, clear promotion criteria, and a supportive onboarding programme.
