About The Linchpin Collective Inc.
What is The Linchpin Co.?
The Linchpin Collective (trading as "The Linchpin Co.") is a people-operations consultancy offering custom recruitment, training and consulting services to purpose-led companies internationally. The studio writes about its purpose: "We are here to bring purpose-led companies and purpose-driven people together."
The firm's name comes from a deliberate metaphor: "A linchpin is a person or thing that is vital to an organization and is also the fastener that keeps a wheel on its axle. It's the tool that holds the various elements of a complicated structure together." Across three service lines — Corporate and Executive Hiring (corporate recruitment, executive search, monthly recruitment subscriptions), Training (facilitated and self-led courses), and Consulting ("Think of us as an extended part of your People and Culture team") — the team supports clients including outdoor brand ARC'TERYX, BCMEA (British Columbia Maritime Employers Association), The Flowr Corp, Minoh Inc, and Salter Pilon Architecture Inc, all named in testimonials on the site.
Where will I work?
Linchpin is remote-first and based across Canada and the US. On the company's own words: "While our team is based in Canada and the US, we work with clients both locally and internationally." The site's land acknowledgement names the company as "founded on the unceded traditional territories of many nations including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations" — Greater Vancouver. Team members work from cities including Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, Burnaby, Newmarket, Quebec City, Surrey, Aurora, Etobicoke, Ottawa, Langley, Abbotsford, Palo Alto and San Francisco. Client work spans Fremont, Fresno, Sydney, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Hong Kong, Miami, London, Amsterdam and St. Petersburg.
What is the Linchpin team like?
Founder and CEO Colleen Pelly came from a recruitment background at Tesla and lululemon ("Working for brands like Tesla and lululemon she gained experience in full cycle recruitment from entry level through executive level roles, developing and executing training programs"). The senior team also includes Samantha Gibson (Recruitment, "Proudly part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community"), and Sarah Gray (Consultant) who works on workplace well-being, mental health, and equity in the workplace.
Six named values shape the culture: "PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY: We work with integrity and always do the right thing"; "INCLUSION: We maintain an environment of mutual respect and support. Everyone belongs and every voice matters"; "FLEXIBILITY: We are remote-first and understand life is much bigger than our jobs"; "CONTRIBUTION: We are always doing what we can to give back. To each other, to our communities and to those in need"; "GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT: We are lifelong learners and know there is always room to improve"; "CELEBRATION: We are always celebrating. Our people, our wins, each other."
