About Safeguard Global

What is Safeguard Global?

Safeguard Global is a global workforce management company specialising in Employer of Record (EOR), contractor management, payroll, finance & tax, global recruitment and entity setup. The about page traces the founding back to 2008, when CEO Bjorn Reynolds "created the first global centralized payroll solution" by founding the company. In 2009 Safeguard Global became "the first company to offer Employer of Record solutions on a global scale," and in 2010 it became "the first global payroll provider to establish a formal partnership with Workday."

In 2025, Safeguard Global sold its enterprise payroll division "to focus on what we do best: serving small- to medium-sized organizations." Other milestones include the 2019 Accel-KKR growth equity investment, the 2019 acquisition of Switzerland-based WorkFor Group, the 2020 GEDA acquisition in Germany, and the 2022 Global Upside acquisition.

Where will I work?

Safeguard Global operates a remote-first "Work in Any Way" model with "Guardians located in more than 50 countries, working remotely, from a co-working space, or in one of our Global offices." The corporate headquarters are in Austin, Texas, with additional hubs across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The company's solutions span 187 countries.

The company's philosophy is explicit: "Work in Any Way isn't just a catchphrase. It's also a genuine commitment to our belief that a happy team is a higher-functioning team."

What is the Safeguard Global team like?

The company is led by Founder and CEO Bjorn Reynolds, supported by an executive team including Chief Customer Officer Brian Dames, CFO Florence Cazemajou-Flint, CPO Katherine Loranger, CMO Lisa Farrar, Chief Strategy & Legal Officer Molly MacNeil, Chief Product Officer Tia Millar and COO Wanda Prewitt. With 400+ experts worldwide following the 2025 enterprise-payroll divestiture, the team — known internally as "Guardians" — has served 1,500+ organisations globally.

Culture is shaped around six values: Caring, Passion and Talent, Integrity, Fun, Accountability, and Disrupt and Empower. The "Human when it matters" framing positions Safeguard as "where AI meets actual intelligence."

Work-Life Balance

Safeguard Global's benefits emphasise true flexibility: "Work autonomy: we get it, one size doesn't fit all. We believe great work happens when business needs and unique working styles align." Family policies include "paid bonding leave, flexible working hours, and a family-first culture mean you can take the time you need for what matters most." Guardians receive "two paid days off each year to do volunteer work for a cause that matters to you" through the "Make a Difference" program, and the "High Fives & Hoorays" peer-recognition system. Most engineering teams work a 4-day work week (32 hours), and all employees benefit from flexible scheduling options.

Perks and Benefits

Benefits vary by country (Safeguard operates as its own EOR clients' case study), but consistently include: Safeguard's own training courses plus LinkedIn Learning access; retirement and health benefits aligned with local statutory standards; paid bonding leave; co-working space access worldwide; equipment provision for remote-first roles; and pay-for-performance bonus or sales-incentive plans for eligible positions. The company emphasises "career development… across teams and across the globe with our tools, support, and pathways."
