What is Oregon State University?
Oregon State University (OSU) is a public land-grant research university in Corvallis, Oregon, founded in 1868. One of only a handful of US universities to hold land-, sea-, space- and sun-grant designations, it is a major centre for research across the sciences, engineering, agriculture, oceanography and the liberal arts.

Oregon State's Flexible Work Arrangement policy provides for a genuine compressed work week — a schedule where "the employee's work week is compressed from five days to four or less with the employee still maintaining a work week commensurate with their normal full-time equivalency." It is a year-round option, renewed on an annual basis and subject to operational needs.
