Who we are

Born in 2013, Ghost is a non-profit, open-source publishing platform for professional creators and independent media. We build modern tools to create websites, publish content, send newsletters, and run paid memberships — all while keeping creators in control of their audience, brand, and revenue.

Our team

We’ve been 100% remote since day one, with a small, distributed team spanning five continents and many time zones. We work in calm, focused cycles with few meetings, high trust, and lots of autonomy. We consciously stay small (under ~50 people) to optimize for quality, independence, and a great life outside work — even if third‑party estimates suggest otherwise. Twice a year we meet for a week-long team retreat to collaborate in person and enjoy time together.
