About Femma
What is Femma?
Femma (Femma Wereldvrouwen) is a Flemish socio-cultural women's movement and non-profit, founded in 1920 and based in Brussels. It runs community groups, courses and campaigns focused on women's wellbeing, work–life balance and a fairer division of work and care — and it deliberately practises the work-time reduction it advocates for.
Where will I work?
Femma's central team is based in Brussels (Schaerbeek), supporting volunteers and local groups across Flanders.
What is the Femma team like?
Around 50 staff across programmes, community/volunteer support, communications, policy/advocacy and administration — a mission-driven non-profit.
Work-Life Balance
Femma is one of Europe's most-cited work-time-reduction cases. After running a 30-hour-week experiment in 2019, it introduced a structural collective 32-hour, four-day week for its entire staff from 2022, at full pay — putting its own house in order on the cause it champions.

- Structural 32-hour / 4-day week for all staff, at full pay (since 2022)
