About Deedmob
What is Deedmob?
Deedmob is a social-tech enterprise founded at the University of Oxford in 2017 and now headquartered in Amsterdam. It builds custom volunteer-management platforms that, in its own words, "activate, empower and scale the impact of volunteering communities." The numbers it publishes are substantial: 75K+ first-time volunteers via Deedmob, 12.5K+ organisations using the platform, 3M+ represented volunteers, and 42K+ matches made during COVID-19.
Deedmob's technology has been recognised externally: its founders were named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2020 alongside Greta Thunberg; the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation rated its solution "best-in-class in corporate volunteering technology"; and the BBC praised Deedmob as a solution to engage more volunteers in the UK thanks to its COVID-19 efforts. Customers include Vrijwilligerspunt Dalfsen and Spark Somerset, where the platform provides "500+ local organisations with their own shopfront for volunteering, resulting in 4000+ signups."
Where will I work?
A distributed team headquartered in Amsterdam (Koningsplein 1 2, 1017BB) with an international ambassador network across Europe (Amsterdam, Groningen, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Leiden, Wageningen, Oxford, London), the US (NYC, Los Angeles), and Asia (Beijing).
What is the Deedmob team like?
A close-knit core team of nine + two founders, led by Boudewijn Wijnands (Founder & Chairman), Levi Witbaard (CEO), and Tadeáš Peták (CTO). The team includes Hendrik-Jan Overmeer (Strategic Communications & Public Affairs and founding team member), Gerbrand Holland (Growth Manager), Jasper Versteege and Lioba Visser (Partnership Managers), and engineers Michal Kvasničak (Senior Full Stack) and Álvaro Cuesta (Full Stack), with David Furlong as second founder. The advisory board includes Mark Aink (NATIVE Circles, B-Corp Europe Advisory Board, Climate Reality Leader), Jeroo Billimoria (founder of Child and Youth Finance International, having engaged stakeholders in 124 countries and helped over 36 million children), and Alexander Rinnooy Kan (Dutch Senate member, Professor of Economics at the University of Amsterdam, former President of the Dutch employers federation VNO-NCW).
Work-Life Balance
Deedmob is mission-led: "Our mission is to empower everyone to contribute to a better world." Its purpose-driven framing — addressing climate change, homelessness, the refugee crisis, child obesity, and engaging young people in volunteering — extends to the working culture. The team works from a "bright office in the heart of Amsterdam" alongside an international ambassador network, and the company actively invites prospective hires to "drop us an e-mail at [email protected]" or check current vacancies.
