About Central Arizona Project
What is Central Arizona Project?
Central Arizona Project (CAP) is the largest provider of renewable water supplies in Arizona. CAP operates a 336-mile system of canals, pumping plants and pipelines that carries Colorado River water across the desert to the cities, tribes and agricultural communities of central and southern Arizona — water for more than five million people.
Where will I work?
CAP is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, with pumping plants and operations facilities along the canal system. Most positions work a 4-10 compressed schedule, and many roles offer hybrid remote work.
What is the team like?
Around 500 employees — electrical, civil, mechanical and water-resources engineers, hydrologists, power and canal operators, environmental scientists, IT, finance and analysts — running one of the most complex water-delivery systems in the country.
Work-Life Balance
CAP runs a genuine compressed work week. From its careers benefits: "Flexible work arrangements (4-10 work schedule with Fridays off for most positions)." Most staff work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, with Fridays off — and many roles add hybrid remote work on top.
