About CDP
What is CDP?
CDP is a global non-profit that, in its own words, "runs the world's only independent environmental disclosure system for companies, capital markets, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts". Founded in 2000, it was "the first organization to leverage the power of the market to drive corporate disclosure on environmental risks, opportunities and impacts". More than 22,100 companies, "representing two-thirds of global market capitalization", now disclose through CDP, alongside over 1,000 cities, states and regions, and its questionnaire folds in best-practice reporting standards from the likes of the ISSB and TNFD. CDP's stated purpose is "to surface new information, enabling Earth-positive decisions to protect future generations", and its vision is "a world where people, planet, and profit are truly balanced".
Where will I work?
CDP's headquarters is "based in the City of London". Its career site also lists CDP North America, CDP Global - Latin America, CDP Worldwide-Japan, a Berlin GmbH, Hong Kong and Beijing entities and Singapore, and describes "regional offices and local partners spanning 50 locations". London roles are hybrid: adverts state that candidates "will need to live within a commutable distance of the London office and be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week", and are explicit about sponsorship, with several noting "we cannot sponsor this role".
What is the CDP team like?
CDP calls its team "truly global, united by our shared desire to build a world where people, planet and profit are balanced", spanning data, engineering, product, corporate engagement, capital markets, policy and technical standards. Its values are "We move together. We find solutions. We champion transparency. We promote optimism." Beyond the day job, the London office describes "a vibrant diverse CDP community with many interest groups and societies, from table tennis and mixed football to Book Clubs".
Work-Life Balance
CDP publishes its UK package openly rather than leaving it to the offer stage. The London careers page lists "30 days annual leave + bank holidays" and "Flexible and hybrid working opportunities", and promises "flexible and hybrid working from day one". Every UK advert repeats the same line: "30 days' holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits." That flexibility sits on top of a standard week: CDP does not publish a four-day, compressed or reduced-hours schedule anywhere on its site or job board, and the office expectation for London staff is two days a week.
