Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Rules for using auto-apply credits and the auto-apply feature on 4dayweek.io, incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs use of the auto-apply feature and the purchase of auto-apply credits. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By purchasing credits or enabling auto-apply, you agree to the terms below.
Table of Contents
1. Scope
This AUP applies to the auto-apply feature (including both the manual "Auto-apply" button on supported job pages and the scheduled background bot that applies to matched jobs on your behalf), the purchase and consumption of auto-apply credits, and any related use of our server-side submission infrastructure. It supplements and does not replace our Terms of Service. In the event of conflict, this AUP prevails for matters it addresses.
2. How auto-apply works
When you click "Auto-apply" on a supported job, or when the background bot applies on your behalf, our server-side system submits an application using:
- Your saved profile (name, email, location, work history)
- Your uploaded resume
- An AI-generated cover letter tailored to the job and your profile
- Any additional fields the target application form requires and we support
Each successful submission consumes one credit from your balance. If a submission fails for reasons on our side (captcha, form change, network timeout), no credit is consumed. We do not store the credentials of any third-party platform — we submit as an independent applicant using the data you have already shared with us.
3. Supported jobs
The auto-apply button is only shown on jobs we can actually submit applications to. You will never spend a credit on a job we cannot support. Supported categories currently include:
- Jobs whose application form is hosted on 4dayweek.io (we control the submission pipeline end-to-end)
- Jobs hosted on select partner Applicant Tracking Systems (Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workable, and others as we roll out integrations) where the employer permits third-party application submission via API
Explicitly not supported at this time (the auto-apply button is hidden on these): LinkedIn Easy Apply, Indeed, Workday-hosted career sites, and any other platform whose terms of service prohibit or do not clearly permit third-party automated submission. We may expand or retract the supported list at our discretion, typically with prior notice on the pricing page.
4. Third-party TOS risk
Even on supported jobs, third-party platforms operate under their own terms of service. You acknowledge:
- Some employers' terms may require the applicant to personally complete the application form. You represent that, for any job you auto-apply to, you have the authority and intent to be treated as the applicant.
- Third-party platforms may change their terms or technical measures without notice, which could render our auto-apply integration partially or fully unavailable for certain jobs.
- 4dayweek.io disclaims liability for any third-party account restrictions, account bans, application rejections, or other adverse outcomes arising from legitimate use of auto-apply within this AUP.
5. Prohibited uses of auto-apply
You agree not to use auto-apply (or purchase credits with intent) to:
- Apply to jobs you have no intent, ability, or authority to accept if offered
- Impersonate another person, or submit false or materially misleading personal details (name, experience, qualifications, right-to-work status)
- Submit applications on behalf of third parties (e.g. running auto-apply against a single account for multiple candidates) unless you are that third party's authorised agent and have their documented consent
- Apply to positions in a manner designed to harass, spam, or deliberately pollute an employer's hiring pipeline
- Circumvent, attempt to circumvent, or probe our rate limits, detection systems, or credit-accounting mechanisms
- Use auto-apply to conduct competitive intelligence gathering, pricing research, or any activity not consistent with bona fide job-seeking
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or enumerate our supported-jobs list, ATS integration details, or cover-letter-generation prompts
- Combine auto-apply with automated tooling that submits additional applications to the same employer via channels we do not control (doing so multiplies spam signals attributable to us)
6. Rate limits
Regardless of your credit balance, auto-apply is subject to a default cap of 30 successful applications per user per 24-hour rolling window. This limit exists to protect both you (avoiding bot-detection-triggering bursts that could harm your reputation on destination platforms) and our integration partners (avoiding volume patterns that would put our ATS integrations at risk). We may adjust the cap up or down based on user behaviour, observed fraud patterns, or ATS partner requirements.
Credits not consumed due to a daily cap remain in your balance indefinitely and will be available on subsequent days.
7. Enforcement and revocation
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:
- Suspend or throttle auto-apply access for an account under investigation
- Revoke remaining credit balances when we determine a material violation of this AUP has occurred. Revocation is logged in our audit trail with the reason and the acting administrator. Revoked credits are not eligible for refund under the refund policy in Section 8.5 of the Terms of Service.
- Terminate the account entirely for repeated or serious violations, subject to the termination provisions in Section 15 of the Terms of Service
- Report activity to the affected third-party platform or to law enforcement where we reasonably believe fraud, impersonation, or other illegal activity is involved
We will typically contact you before taking revocation action unless the nature of the violation makes prior notice impractical (e.g. active abuse in progress). You may appeal any enforcement action by contacting us at the address in Section 9.
8. Data handling during auto-apply
Data submitted to third-party application forms (your profile, resume, cover letter) is transmitted to the target employer's ATS at the moment of submission. After submission, that data becomes subject to the receiving employer's own privacy practices — we no longer control what they do with it. A copy of what was submitted is retained in your 4dayweek.io application history for your own records (see Section 7 of the Privacy Policy for retention period).
AI-generated cover letters are produced per-application from your profile and the job description. Generated content is stored alongside the application record; the prompt + completion is not retained long-term beyond our standard AI-service caching window.
