This is an exciting opportunity to establish a brand‑new function within our Project Delivery team, as we continue to strengthen how we engage, inform and partner with our community on major capital works programs.

The Role

As our Stakeholder Engagement Specialist, you will work closely with project managers to lead the planning and delivery of stakeholder and community engagement across our major and high profile infrastructure projects. You will embed transparency, inclusiveness, accessibility and early engagement into the way we deliver projects.

We'll look to you to:

  • Design and deliver engagement strategies: Develop and implement tailored engagement approaches that respond to project scope, community needs, risks and opportunities. Strategies will be collaborative, inclusive, transparent, timely, responsive and measurable, and aligned with Council’s Community_Engagement_Framework.

  • Research and insight: Undertake research into project context, community demographics, stakeholder interests and potential impacts to inform engagement planning, risk management and decision‑making.

  • Monitor, adapt and evaluate: Oversee engagement activities across the full project lifecycle, adapting methods and messaging in response to emerging issues, community sentiment and changing environments. Lead post‑delivery evaluation with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

  • Create tools, resources and content: You’ll drive the establishment of evaluation frameworks, plans and governance controls, as well as produce high‑quality engagement materials including project updates, fact sheets, web and social content, consultation reports and Council briefings.

  • Lead and mentor: You will mentor team members and support project managers to build strong, consistent engagement capability. This role will also have leadership of one direct report.
