We are looking for a Strategic Accounting Senior to act as a crucial change agent in modernizing our Finance organization. This role is central to driving efficiency and scale by leading the integration and optimization of AI and new technologies across core Accounting processes at HubSpot. You will be a go-to accounting subject matter expert, responsible for identifying high-impact use cases and executing strategic changes in business strategies with our Product and Sales stakeholders.
In this role you’ll get to:

Act as an accounting subject matter expert, along with other members of the Strategic Accounting Initiatives team, working with our Product and Sales stakeholders to manage execution of key business changes and system implementations
- Help provide detailed accounting business requirements after thoroughly understanding the current end to end process and goals for the system
- Assist with the design and documentation of implementation testing plans and go-forward control activity design; coordinate buy in from internal and external audit teams
- Assist with the identification and generation of use cases for design and configuration of the system as well as testing the output of the use cases
- Perform user acceptance and parallel testing to ensure systems meet required specifications
- Transfer knowledge and help train Accounting team members that will own the system in their processes going forward

Lead the integration and optimization of AI and new technologies to enhance efficiency across core Accounting processes and workflows, such as accelerating month-end close, automating complex JE’s and reconciliations, and leveraging AI for advanced data analysis

Help drive Accounting system and processes maturity and scale, including facilitating discussions on pain points and assisting with execution of process improvements

Assist with integration of acquired companies or newly stood up subsidiaries into existing Accounting processes
We are looking for people who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3-6 years in Accounting roles (combination of Big 4 and industry experience)
- Solid understanding of revenue and commissions accounting under ASC 606
- Proficiency in Excel and AI tools is required; Netsuite and Looker a plus
- Desire to constantly be learning and improve skills and knowledge
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Strong oral and written skills and the ability to communicate
Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Annual Cash Compensation Range:
$84,000—$126,000 USD
