About This Role

As a Scientist in the Cellular Models and Molecular Biology group, you will support programs across Biogen’s immunological, neurological and rare disease portfolio. Our team develops novel human cellular and molecular systems and plays a key role building these tools into translatable in vitro assays. As part of the Biomarker and Systems Biology department we support workstreams from target validation through non-clinical safety and biomarker discovery.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute in vitro assays with cell lines, primary and hiPSC derived cell types

  • Deploy orthogonal assay endpoints (eg RNA, protein and imaging)

  • Design reporter, knockdown and overexpression strategies

  • Present group capabilities to cross functional project teams

  • Support advanced transcriptomic and proteomic workflows

Required Skills

  • PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology or related field with 1+ years of related experience; or Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology or related field with 4+ years of related experience.

  • Track record of independent experimental design, execution, and interpretation.

  • Proficiency with mammalian cell culture (cell lines, primary and hiPSC derived).

  • Proficiency with RNA and protein readouts (qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, western blot).

  • Strong molecular biology skills for design and optimization of expression strategies.

  • Experience with high content imaging and/or flow cytometry.

  • Familiarity with transcriptomic workflows.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with complex in vitro models, 3D cell culture or microphysiological systems.

  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $111,000.00-$144,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
