Psychiatric Rehabilitation Addictions Specialist – Weekend Services

Salary Range: $40,000–$55,000 annually
Position Summary
The Addictions Counselor for Weekend Services plays a key role in supporting clients along their substance use recovery journey. Using the principles of psychiatric rehabilitation (PSR), this position helps clients build skills, increase independence, strengthen natural supports, and achieve meaningful life goals. This is a full-time, three-day weekend position.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide targeted substance use disorder interventions to individuals struggling with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues.
- Provide ongoing skill development interventions to support independence in daily living, social functioning, and community integration.
- Document progress, outcomes, and service delivery in accordance with program and regulatory standards.
- Deliver high‑quality, strengths-based services that align with HealthPort’s mission of providing sanctuary, support, and recovery‑oriented care.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating healthy coping strategies, professionalism, and ethical practice.
- Coordinate care with internal and external providers to promote holistic and integrated services.
- Support clients in managing their healthcare needs, including scheduling, follow‑ups, wellness planning, and health literacy.
- Conduct regular home visits to evaluate and reinforce safety, cleanliness, and daily living skills.
- Promote community inclusion by connecting clients with resources, educational opportunities, and natural supports.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Associate degree in a Human Services field required.
- Experience working with individuals with chronic mental illness strongly preferred.
- Certification in Substance User Disorders treatment preferred (ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, motivational interviewing, and psychiatric rehabilitation principles.
