Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Paralegal / Legal Assistant (PII Compliance), where your expertise in handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) will be crucial in analyzing high-stakes documentation and ensuring strict compliance with evolving data privacy regulations. You will play a key role in safeguarding confidential corporate and financial documents, mitigating re-identification risks, and upholding industry best practices in compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review, redact, and generalize sensitive documents to ensure PII compliance, balancing data utility with privacy obligations.
  2. Support M&A documentation by preparing and managing CIMs, SPAs, and other critical deal documentation.
  3. Implement and maintain rigorous compliance protocols and reconciliation processes for complex data sets.
  4. Advise on structural identifiability of confidential workflows, triage protocols, and proprietary procedures unique to clients.
  5. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and finance teams to resolve PII-related issues and provide subject matter guidance.
  6. Assist in drafting and revising compliance policies and training materials to reflect best practices.
  7. Maintain meticulous records of document handling and compliance activities for audit and review purposes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with PII compliance in a legal or corporate environment.
  2. Demonstrated ability to identify non-obvious PII and apply advanced redaction and generalization techniques.
  3. Solid understanding of M&A processes, including familiarity with CIMs and SPAs.
  4. Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and managing sensitive financial and corporate documents.
  5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and clarity.
  6. Proactive approach to compliance, capable of balancing regulatory, operational, and business needs.
  7. High integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and proprietary workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience in finance, corporate law, or within highly regulated environments.
  2. Knowledge of global data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA,PII) and their application in M&A or corporate contexts.
  3. Advanced training or certification in compliance, privacy, or legal research.
