【Job Summary】

The primary responsibility of the Medical Advisor is to create a Medical Plan (CMAP) for the assigned disease area and products, and to execute various medical activities planned in the CMAP in collaboration with department members and stakeholders. This includes communication and collaboration with global counterparts. Therefore, the Medical Advisor is expected to possess high-level scientific and medical knowledge in the assigned disease area, strong communication skills with various stakeholders, and the strategic thinking, execution, and leadership required to develop and implement the CMAP.

【Key Responsibilities】
Medical Strategy
-
Create and execute a Country Medical Affairs Plan for the assigned therapeutic area/product in alignment with franchise strategy.

Collaborate with the global team to provide continuous information and input regarding the development and execution of global medical strategy.
Scientific Insights
-
In coordination with the MSL Manager, manage MSL scientific insight collection activities, analyze the collected insights, and utilize them for medical activities.
-
Plan and lead expert input meetings and other medical programs, incorporating scientific insights gained from basic research and clinical experts into the medical strategy.
Medical Education Programs
- Identify educational unmet needs in the assigned disease area and plan and execute medical education programs in alignment with franchise strategy.
Evidence Generation

Extract data needs, and design, plan, and execute research and studies.

Follow up on investigator-initiated studies in accordance with SOPs.
Early Development Pipeline Products
-
Collect, analyze, and provide input on various medical information regarding development pipeline products as needed.

Provide strategic scientific and medical recommendations regarding development products as needed.
Internal Operations

Collaborate with the MSL Manager to design and execute skill development plans for MSL team members and Medical Information team members.

Review promotional materials for the assigned area from a medical and scientific perspective.

As an expert in the assigned disease area, provide necessary input to internal stakeholders from a scientific and medical professional standpoint.
【Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies】
Required
-
Possess a degree in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, a PhD in pharmaceutical or life sciences (or a master's degree in a life-related field with plans to obtain a PhD in the same field).

At least 2 years of clinical or research experience in the healthcare field.
-
Experience in publishing papers in peer-reviewed academic journals or presenting at academic conferences.

Deep understanding of scientific data and a high-level scientific background, with experience regarding domestic regulations related to pharmaceutical companies, insurance reimbursement systems, and guidelines related to clinical research.

Ability to design, plan, and execute research under the guidance/supervision of an Executive Director.

Ability to promote cooperation between teams.

Ability to build peer-to-peer relationships with scientific leaders through scientific expertise.

Leadership to lead teams in the assigned disease area.

Language:

Japanese: Native level
-
English: Business-level English proficiency capable of communicating with global teams (Guideline: equivalent to TOEIC 860 or higher)

Preferred
-
At least 2 years of clinical or research experience in the vaccine/infectious disease field
-
Specialist in vaccine/infectious disease, PhD, MPH, or postdoctoral experience
-
Medical or research experience in a global environment or overseas
*For this recruitment, we are considering an Associate Director (Grade: 4) or a Sr. Specialist (Grade: 3).
