Housed within Signature Academic Experiences, the LINKS program is a first-year student support program that helps students navigate their transition to Ohio University and develop meaningful connections with peers, campus resources, academic interests, and potential career pathways. LINKS emphasizes well-being, campus engagement, personal development, academic and professional development, and a sense of belonging within the Bobcat community. Every LINKS student is paired with a returning-student peer mentor who provides individualized peer support and maintains regular contact throughout the academic year.
The LINKS Peer Mentor position contributes to this mission by serving as a positive peer role model and a supportive point of connection for first-year students. Peer Mentors help students navigate their transition to college, identify and connect with appropriate campus resources, explore academic and career interests, participate in program activities, and build meaningful connections within the OHIO community. Peer Mentors work under the supervision of the LINKS Assistant Director and collaborate with the LINKS team to support student engagement and success.
