Job Description
- Resolve escalated incidents efficiently within the SLA.
- Provide detailed diagnosis and documentation for issues.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain systems: Windows, macOS, O365, Azure, Entra ID, Exchange, Synology, Ubiquiti, Tailscale, 3CX, MDM.
- Support hardware, networking, VPNs, printers, peripherals, and server/workstation breakdowns.
- Consult L3 experts when encountering complex or undefined issues.
- Drive knowledge transfer—create KB (HTL) articles and update triage and escalation procedures.
- Mentor L1 colleagues in troubleshooting and escalation best practices.
- Completing tasks towards delivering our clients’ IT projects.
- Customer, supplier and third-party liaison throughout projects.
- Provide concise documentation of the systems and processes that you have implemented.
- Opportunities for Hybrid remote and onsite project delivery across the south and south-west of the UK.

Base Technical Skills
- Familiar with Apple hardware and software, including macOS and iOS.
- Familiar with common cloud business platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Confident in supporting and deploying commonly used SaaS platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Sharepoint.
- Familiarity with a range of products and software from vendors, including:
- Synology
- DrayTek
- Ubiquiti / UniFi
- 3CX
- ZeroTier / Tailscale (and/or comparable SD-WAN VPNs)
- Mosyle (or a comparable MDM solution)
- Confident understanding of IP networking concepts, including designing, installing, configuring and troubleshooting complex small- to medium-sized business networks.
- Advanced wired and wireless network configuration and optimisation, including the use of VLANs, firewalls and other techniques for network segmentation and endpoint security.
- Familiarity with advanced cloud directory, SAML / SSO and various modern authentication methods, e.g. Microsoft Entra (Azure).
- Experience installing and troubleshooting standard office peripherals like printers, scanners and VoIP handsets.
- Confidence in configuring and troubleshooting email platforms, including email service migrations, deliverability and fixing email client issues.
Highly Advantageous Technical Skills
- Experience designing and installing physical network infrastructure, including CAT5/6 cable terminations to RJ45 / patch panels, server cabinets, trunking data cables and mounting WiFi access points.
- Experience deploying and administering cloud-based virtual Windows / Linux servers and Microsoft Remote Desktop / Citrix-style environments, Microsoft Azure and virtualisation.
- Experience designing and managing FileMaker (Claris) database solutions.
- Bash / Shell scripting or any broadly equivalent transferrable knowledge in scripting and programming concepts to aid in our internal DevOps processes.
- Experience in modern home automation design and implementation.
Working Conditions
- 4-day working week as standard / 34 hours.
- Six weeks (of a 4-day week) p/a annual leave allowance.
- Generous Christmas / New Year working hours.
- Mileage paid at 45p (own vehicle required).
- The role is nominally based in Bath, Bristol or Exeter, but our client base is spread across the south and southwest; being based anywhere in that region would be suitable if you are willing to travel to customer sites 2-3 days per week up to ~2 hours.
