About the company
Technology has revolutionised the world we live in, yet somehow the rail industry has stayed much the same as it was 30 years ago. Seatfrog is here to change that.
We're on a mission to build a better future for billions of passengers and the rail companies that carry them. We've already reinvented how upgrading your seat is done - now affordable and lightning fast to over 870 destinations - and enabled customers to effortlessly swap between train journeys. But we're not stopping there! We're on our way to becoming the ultimate travel companion and the only app you'll ever need when travelling by rail in the UK and beyond.
We’re building a stellar team to achieve our audacious goals. We strive to create an environment where you can do your best work. Join us, and you’ll be challenged and supported in equal measure. Ours is a culture with spirit and substance and our people are empowered to make the bold decisions others wouldn’t and haven't.
About the role
A broad, hands-on finance role at Seatfrog, a scaling rail tech business on a mission to make train travel better for millions of passengers. You’ll get genuine variety across AP/AR, management accounts, and operational finance, in a team and business that moves fast.
Salary band: £45,000 – £50,000
As Finance Associate you will be the engine room of our finance function, keeping the numbers accurate, the processes tight, and the wider business well-supported. This is a varied role that blends management accounting with operational finance, giving you real breadth and the chance to make a tangible impact from day one.
You’ll join our small but mighty Finance team, a close-knit group that keeps Seatfrog running smoothly behind the scenes. Working alongside Hannah (Financial Controller) and Tony (Finance Director), you’ll be a key part of a team that’s as ambitious as the business it supports.
What you'll be doing
-
Own our accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring invoices are raised, approved, and paid accurately and on time
-
Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including support with accruals, prepayments, and revenue
-
Track and manage contract renewals across the business, keeping a clear schedule and proactively flagging upcoming deadlines
-
Liaise with teams across the business to gather information, resolve queries, and keep financial processes running smoothly
-
Use Xero and Moss to manage day-to-day bookkeeping, expense processing, and financial reporting
-
Continuously look for ways to improve the finance function, whether that’s streamlining processes, building automations, or exploring how AI can make us smarter and faster
What you'll need
-
Part-qualified, or qualified by experience, we’re open. As important as your background is the person you are; collaborative, straightforward to work with, and genuinely caring about doing good work
-
Hands-on finance experience, whether that’s AP/AR, management accounts, or a mix of finance and ops, you know your way around the fundamentals
-
Hands-on experience with Xero (essential); familiarity with Moss or similar expense management tools is a plus
-
A willingness to get stuck in, no task is too small and no problem is someone else’s, you bring energy and ownership to everything you do
-
Curious and eager to explore how AI can be applied to finance — someone excited to learn, experiment, and help shape how emerging tools transform the way we work
