Job description

We are looking for a talented collections specialist to join Sectigo's international, fast-growing team.

The collections specialist is responsible for proactive collections and the management of a portfolio of B2B clients within Sectigo's global Accounts Receivable organization. The role aims to maximize cash collection, reduce overdue receivables, resolve issues preventing payments and ensure the accuracy and completeness of collection files.

The employee works closely with clients as well as with the Billing, Cash Application, Sales, Finance, Legal, Tax, Contracts and Customer Operations teams to remove payment obstacles and ensure on-time settlements.

Main missions and responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned client portfolio, including current and overdue receivables, in line with Sectigo's collection and escalation processes.
  • Prioritize high-value accounts, accounts with late payments or high risk in order to contribute to monthly and quarterly cash collection targets.
  • Contact clients regularly by phone and email, send account statements and invoice copies, confirm their receipt and obtain payment commitments.
  • Track promised due dates and agreed payment plans, and escalate delays or unmet commitments.
  • Identify payment blockers (invoice disputes, missing purchase orders, supplier registration requirements, billing errors or incomplete documentation) and coordinate their resolution with the relevant internal teams.
  • Submit invoices on client portals when necessary and contribute to their registration and maintenance.
  • Work with the Cash Application team to resolve unmatched payments, missing remittance advices, partial payments, exchange rate differences and settlements not yet linked to the corresponding invoices.
  • Work with the Billing team to correct information related to invoices or client accounts and ensure clients receive all required documents.
  • Escalate problematic or unresponsive accounts to the sales teams and management according to current collection procedures, and report accounts that may require suspension or blocking.
  • Gather and organize the documentation needed for files passed to the legal department or an external collection agency, including invoices, contracts, purchase orders and reminder histories.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date information in NetSuite and other systems used: collection notes, client contact details, dispute status, payment commitments and next actions.
  • Carry out any other specific mission or project related to Accounts Receivable.
  • Take on additional tasks that may be assigned based on business needs and strategic initiatives.

Additional information

  • This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Lille office, with a presence required 5 days per week.
  • The target salary for this position is between €30,000 and €33,000 gross per year, depending on the candidate's experience and internal equity. Further adjustments may be considered, subject to approval, to meet business needs and market changes.

Qualifications

Education

  • A Bac+3 degree (Licence/Bachelor) in accounting, finance, management or a related field is an asset. Equivalent and relevant professional experience will also be highly valued.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of practical experience in B2B collections or Accounts Receivable, ideally in an international, high-volume environment.
  • Proven experience managing a client portfolio, resolving complex payment issues and achieving collection targets.
  • Experience with multi-currency transactions, client portals, payment plans, dispute management and account reconciliation is highly desirable.

Profile sought, skills and qualifications

  • Excellent collection and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and constructively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, clear, concise and proactive, with clients, sales teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize large receivables and urgent risks while rigorously tracking the entire client portfolio.
  • Strong analytical, accounting reconciliation and problem-solving skills, combined with a high level of rigor and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce or any comparable ERP/CRM system is an asset.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with teams spread across different countries, time zones and functions, in a dynamic international environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, sense of responsibility and rigorous file follow-up, with the ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of general accounting principles and of the Order-to-Cash cycle.
