The Role
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our rapidly growing team in Cambridge. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is critical to maintain accurate financial records, process day-to-day financial transactions, and support the finance function by ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts on a weekly basis
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies
- Assist with payroll processing
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain financial documentation and filing systems
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding financial queries
Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with Xero and Google Sheets
Desirable:
- AAT or similar qualification
- Experience in antiques/jewellery industry
- Knowledge of UK VAT regulations and payroll processes
