About the Job

As an Automation Engineer, your responsibility will be to ensure the availability, reliability, and continuous improvement of the plant's automation and control systems. You will technically manage external automation services, provide direct support to Production, and actively contribute to closing the accumulated technical GAP in the area. This position is key to laying the foundations for a robust and sustainable automation team.

Join a global network that drives the way Sanofi delivers its products, seamlessly, intentionally, and at scale. In M&S, you will help reimagine how life-changing treatments reach people everywhere, faster.

About Sanofi:

We are an R&D-driven and AI-powered biopharmaceutical company committed to improving people's lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system and innovative pipeline allows us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we pursue the miracles of science to improve people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical support for plant control systems: operate, maintain, and provide support for PCS7 (Siemens), Siemens PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and LTAP.

  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting: identify and resolve faults in automation and control systems, minimizing the impact on production operations.

  • Closing the accumulated technical backlog: execute and follow up on prioritized remediation actions — PCS7 alarms, updating technical documentation (P&IDs, loop diagrams), LTAP obsolescence, among others.

  • Technical support to Production: address deviations, unplanned downtime, and process improvement requests, serving as the technical point of contact for the automation area for Production and Quality teams.

  • Technical support for the implementation and commissioning of MARs: actively participate in technical support for the new Manufacturing Automation & Robotics system, ensuring operational continuity from Go-Live.

  • Management and updating of technical documentation: keep the area's documentation updated (P&IDs, instrumentation diagrams, technical procedures, change logs).

  • Collaboration with IT/OT: work together with the infrastructure team for the maintenance and improvement of the site's OT network.

  • Technical management of the external automation service: act as the Sanofi technical reference for the provider, prioritizing tasks, supervising execution, and validating technical deliverables.

  • Participation in continuous improvement projects: contribute to production process optimization initiatives through automation solutions.

  • Progressive development of knowledge in CSV (Computer System Validation) as part of the natural growth of the role within the area.

About You

  • Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in industrial automation, with proficiency in PCS7 (Siemens), Siemens PLCs (S7-300/400/1200/1500), HMIs, SCADA systems, and LTAP. Experience in programming, configuration, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of automation and control systems. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or regulated environments, technical vendor management, OT networks, and participation in continuous improvement and system commissioning projects will be valued.

  • Soft and technical skills: Knowledge of industrial automation and control, reading and interpreting P&IDs and instrumentation diagrams, OT networks (Profibus, Profinet, Industrial Ethernet), industrial cybersecurity, and CSV (Computer System Validation). Ability to diagnose and solve problems, technical autonomy, decision-making under uncertainty, prioritization, and management of multiple initiatives. Results-oriented, proactive, continuous improvement, effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, vendor management, adaptability, and commitment to compliance, quality, and safety in regulated environments.

  • Education: Advanced student or university graduate in Electronic, Automation, Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

  • Languages: Technical English, with the ability to read and understand manuals, technical documentation, and international standards.
