Ohio University School of Nursing is seeking two non-tenure track faculty candidates for traditional on-campus BSN students. These are full-time, 9-month positions at the Assistant Professor of Instruction rank at the Athens campus. The candidates will be responsible to plan, implement, and be responsible for BSN student instruction. Didactic instruction will be assigned based on expertise and credentials. Assigned didactic teaching modalities will be face-to-face. In addition, online class delivery may be assigned as needed, based on expertise and credentials. Successful candidates may be expected to provide clinical site, laboratory, and didactic instruction to BSN student learners for all BSN courses.
Additional expectations include (but are not limited to):
- Meeting with course faculty to develop course expectations.
- Identifying students' needs in terms of objectives of the relevant course.
- Providing instruction to students at the clinical sites, laboratory/simulation settings, and classroom to acquire professional attitudes, knowledge, and skills.
- Assisting students in using problem-solving techniques.
Successful candidates will be required to be on campus throughout the academic year (August through May).
Teaching assignments/instructional responsibilities will be based on candidate expertise and/or credentials.
All School of Nursing faculty members are expected to collaboratively and actively engage in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student instruction and to participate in School of Nursing governance to ensure program standards and outcomes are fully met.
