About the department

Within Applus+, there is a tank inspection department that deals exclusively with inspection, testing (NDT), assessment (Fit-for-Service), and certification (NL-CBIT) of storage tanks. Due to the growth of the department, a vacancy for an Advanced NDT Technician has arisen.

The tank inspection team is an independent team with a lot of collaboration between the various tank inspection disciplines. The work takes place throughout the Netherlands and occasionally abroad.

Storage tanks are essential for our energy supply, as all fuels are stored in them. Chemicals needed for the manufacture of, for example, packaging, car parts, bicycles, or garden chairs are also stored in storage tanks.

Storage tanks can be found everywhere in the Netherlands and the rest of the world, often in places where it is undesirable for products to escape from the tank. The reliability of storage tanks is therefore crucial for people and the environment. That is why governments have set increasingly stricter requirements for the reliability of storage tanks in recent years. For better reliability, more and more extensive inspections are also required. It is precisely on the basis of this inspection data that it is determined whether a storage tank is reliable enough.
