Where will I work?
UIUC staff work from the University's campus in Urbana and Champaign, Illinois. Compressed and hybrid work arrangements are available to staff through the University's Workplace Flexibility policy.
What is the team like?
Around 11,000 staff across academic departments, research, libraries, IT, finance, facilities, student services and administration.
Work-Life Balance
UIUC's Workplace Flexibility policy (Campus Administrative Manual HR-87) provides for a genuine compressed work week: "The Compressed Work Week allows a staff member to work a traditional 37.5 or 40-hour workweek in less than the traditional number of workdays." The policy gives the example that "a full-time employee scheduled for 40 hours per week could work four 10-hour days instead of five 8-hour days." It is a year-round option.
