About Sensat

What is Sensat?

Sensat is a geospatial AI company that creates digital twins for the world's most critical infrastructure projects. Their flagship Mapp platform enables infrastructure teams to visualise project plans in the context of real-world terrain, test options against site constraints from the desktop, and collaborate across teams by turning complex technical problems into visual, common-language presentations.

Founded in 2017 in London by James Dean and Harry Atkinson, Sensat has raised over $57 million in funding (Series B) from investors including National Grid Partners, Tencent, and Sistema Venture Capital. They serve sectors including water utilities, energy, rail, and real estate, with clients such as National Grid, Network Rail, Severn Trent, and Heathrow — supporting over $250 billion worth of infrastructure projects across 8 countries.

Where will I work?

Sensat is headquartered at 160 Old Street, London, EC1V 9BP, operating from the Fora coworking space. UK-based employees work a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week in the London office. US-based employees work fully remotely, with Eastern Time Zone preferred for collaboration alignment. The company also has team members in Italy.

What is the Sensat team like?

The team of approximately 60 employees includes engineers, data scientists, product managers, sales professionals, and customer success specialists. As a B Corp and ISO 27001 certified company, Sensat values innovation, impact, and authenticity. Their core values are: Innovate Boldly, Make an Impact, Simplify Complexity, Be Real, and Be Resourceful. The company boasts an eNPS of 62 (compared to the tech sector average of 26) and a remarkably low 7% annual attrition rate.

Work-Life Balance

Sensat operates a 4-day work week using the 100-80-100 model: 100% pay, 80% time, 100% productivity. The company is technically closed on Fridays, with a rotation system for the customer success team to ensure client coverage. They adopted this policy after a successful trial that showed no negative impact on revenue or customer satisfaction, and went on to raise their Series B during the trial period. Sensat holds Gold accreditation from the 4 Day Week Foundation.
