What is SDSU Research Foundation?
SDSU Research Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) auxiliary organization, founded in 1943, that administers research grants, contracts and sponsored programs for San Diego State University. A separate legal entity from the University, the Foundation employs research, program and administrative staff supporting SDSU's research enterprise.

SDSU Research Foundation staff work from offices and research sites in San Diego, California, supporting SDSU's campus and field research. Compressed and hybrid work arrangements are available to staff.

Around 3,500 research, program and administrative staff supporting sponsored research across the sciences, education, public health and the social sciences.
Work-Life Balance
SDSU Research Foundation supports a genuine compressed work week. From the Foundation's HR policies: staff may participate in "an alternative workweek schedule (such as a ten-hour day, four-day workweek, or a '9/80' schedule)" — with those "participating in a 4/10" working ten-hour days across four days each week. It is a year-round option, subject to operational needs and supervisor approval.
