Penguin Random House is a leading global book publisher based in New York City. Formed by the merger of Penguin and Random House in 2013, we publish acclaimed fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books across a wide range of imprints. Our mission is simple: publish great books, connect readers and authors worldwide, and spread the love of reading.

Our team includes editors, marketers, publicists, designers, data and technology specialists, operations and warehouse professionals, and more—working together to bring stories to life. With a global workforce of approximately 13,000 colleagues, we collaborate across imprints and functions to champion authors at every stage and reach readers everywhere.

Work environment

  • Work schedule: full‑time is 38 hours per week
  • Location and flexibility: many roles are hybrid (e.g., New York–based publishing and corporate positions); on‑site roles exist in warehouses and operations. Remote/hybrid availability varies by team and role.

We work a normal 5 day work week, but offer a generous PTO policy. Between PTO and public holidays, employees can expect to receive 30-40 paid days offer per year.

Our Vacation Policy

We offer generous PTO, which varies by role & location. Expect between 30 and 40 paid days off per year. Some roles also finish early on a Friday in a summer.
