Job Description
The OS Esports team develops and maintains r6esports.com, as well as the internal tools and data pipelines that support Rainbow Six Siege esports competitions worldwide, from regional leagues to major international events.
The team consists of approximately 10 people working in engineering, business analysis, and quality assurance, in close collaboration with Ubisoft's Esports, Rainbow Six, and Online Services (OS) teams.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive the technology and data roadmap that supports one of the most competitive esports ecosystems in the world, while ensuring technical readiness for international events.
You will be at the intersection of marketing sites, esports operations, data infrastructure, and live streaming tools, collaborating across multiple disciplines to deliver products with real impact on Rainbow Six Siege and its competitions.
This position reports to the Director of Player Services for Online Services, with a planned transition to the R6 Esports management team, responsible for the strategic vision of the esports product.
Your Responsibilities
R6 Esports Product Portfolio
- Define and drive the roadmap for technology and data tools for esports, balancing short-term operational needs with long-term innovation.
- Translate business and competition needs into clear product specifications, in collaboration with the technical lead and development team.
- Lead product discovery phases: define problems, validate solutions, and prioritize based on impact to the R6 esports ecosystem.
- Identify synergy opportunities and manage convergence between out-of-game products and in-game features/tools supporting R6 Esports department objectives.
- Evaluate the relevance of new technology partnerships or improvements to existing partnerships and define their scope and requirements with internal stakeholders (EVE Cell, OS) and external partners (GRID, AWS, Twitch, Challengermode, etc.).
- Ensure alignment of esports operations, broadcast, marketing, and leadership stakeholders.
- Track product performance and regularly communicate results to Esports and Rainbow Six leadership.
Data Governance and Integrity
- Optimize data pipelines and structure to meet in-game and out-of-game needs.
- Coordinate data operations during competitions with all relevant parties (League Ops, GRID, R6 production, technical leads, etc.).
- Manage data structure changes before deployment.
- Implement and manage fallback solutions when automated data flows fail.
Operations and Event Support
- Ensure operation of technology products and risk management during T1-level esports events.
- Define technical readiness plans for each global event covering all out-of-game products, features, and tools (Predictions, GRID, Rehost, observation tools, live display, etc.).
- Oversee the live support process for esports data tools, including incident management, escalation processes, and service levels (SLA).
- Adjust roadmap execution based on available resources, competitive calendar (Majors, Six Invitational, leagues), and new opportunities or requirements (e.g., Chinese market).
- Identify risks and escalate them to production leads or technical leads to implement mitigation solutions.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated product management experience: you have managed a product end-to-end, written specifications, prioritized initiatives, and delivered solutions in a multidisciplinary context.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills: comfortable presenting to senior leadership and aligning stakeholders with diverging priorities.
- Good grasp of data concepts: understanding of how data pipelines work and data quality principles.
- Experience in esports or live events: ideally in competitive gaming, broadcasting, or event production.
- Structured mindset: ability to write clear PRDs, facilitate product discovery workshops, and simplify complex issues to enable decision-making.
- English proficiency; French is a significant asset.
- Availability to travel occasionally for major events and international coordination.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Rainbow Six Siege or Ubisoft's competitive ecosystem.
- Experience with data or broadcast partners such as GRID, AWS, Twitch, or equivalent platforms.
- Comfort with Jira, Confluence, and data dashboards, without necessarily being a technical profile.
