About Nutanix Professional Services
The Japan consulting services team within Nutanix's Professional Services organization plays a critical role in influencing the success of our customers' Nutanix solution design and implementation.
The Consulting Services division ensures project success by accompanying customers through their hybrid multi-cloud initiatives, from pre-sales to post-sales.
Consulting Services Japan provides "full lifecycle projects" that include assessment, design, implementation, integration, automation, and project management.
Through these services, we support the rapid adoption of Nutanix technology and realize faster ROI creation. This is what we call "True Customer Success".
As a result of these efforts, the Consulting Services Japan team has become one of the fastest-growing service organizations at Nutanix in Japan, Asia Pacific, and globally.

Job Responsibilities
The main technical areas provided by our Japan consultants are as follows:
Hybrid multi-cloud technology, server virtualization/EUC in on-premises and/or public cloud environments, private IaaS, disaster recovery (DR), V2V migration, software-defined networking, virtual private cloud, file server and object storage, operational process automation (self-service), database service automation and lifecycle management, secondary storage, Nutanix Clusters on AWS and Azure, and integration with third-party software (EUC, hybrid cloud backup technology, etc.).
- Approximately 70% of working hours engaged in billable projects for customers, primarily within Japan
- Planning and development of new consulting services suitable for the Japanese market
- Participation in limited pre-sales activities primarily as an SME (subject matter expert) in technical fields
Requirements
-
8+ years of experience as a consultant in the infrastructure field
(with virtualization as a foundational skill, and experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes and public clouds such as AWS/Azure)

Native-level Japanese (reading, writing, and conversation) is mandatory

English reading and writing are mandatory (listening and speaking at business level are preferred)

Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V)

Understanding of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, file/block/object storage, and DFS

Understanding of data protection technologies such as replication, snapshots, backup/restore
-
Understanding of datacenter networks (L2/L3), common architectures, firewalls, etc.

Hands-on ability to proactively address customer requirements through implementation

Strong customer orientation and ability to build relationships focused on customer satisfaction

Comfort with whiteboard sessions and PowerPoint presentations, and creating best practice documents

Ability to lead requirement definition and design workshops, environment setup, unit/integration testing, and customer handover as a "hands-on practitioner" rather than in an advisory capacity
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud-native experience such as Kubernetes and AWS/Azure based on on-premises infrastructure/virtualization as a foundation
- Experience with Microsoft virtualization technologies, Azure Pack, and AWS
- Deep understanding of software-defined storage, particularly distributed storage
- Experience with workload migration (V2V)
- Experience with network virtualization using NSX or ACI
- Experience virtualizing enterprise applications such as SQL, Exchange, Oracle
- Experience with automation/orchestration tools such as VMware vCO, System Center Orchestrator, PowerShell, Python, Bash, Puppet, Chef, OpenStack
- Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCAP, VCIX, CCNA, CCIA, RHCE
- Experience working in Professional Services/Consulting Services divisions at Japanese SIers or software vendors
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems

Tomohiro Fujino
Director, Professional Services – Japan, Nutanix Japan
Joined in January 2019. Built the Professional Services business from the ground up, working in conjunction with the license business to realize the success of all customers by accelerating the adoption of Nutanix technology and maximizing ROI.
Over 25 years of professional experience in Consulting Services (Professional Services), education, and TAM services, with experience in both sales and delivery management and field operations.
Greatest professional achievement: In the Consulting Services/Professional Services world, published customer references (customer voice) clearly demonstrate how we delivered value to customers, making our team members proud of their accomplishments.
In this position, we are seeking someone who has worked directly with customers as a primary resource in Consulting Services/Professional Services or SIer roles, demonstrating strong delivery capabilities using the technologies mentioned above.
