The Research Technician provides support to research projects focused on DNA methylation and gene–environment interactions. This role assists with laboratory, data entry, and research support activities under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) and senior research staff, following established protocols and procedures.

Additional Information:

This position is contingent upon funding and will end on or before 12 months of employment, with possibility of renewal based on continued availability of funding and performance.

This is a part time position.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required

Pay Range: $15.86-$16

Salary will be based off of education, experience, internal equity, and budget allowance.

Essential Job Duties

15% - Laboratory Support

  • Assist with laboratory procedures by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and following established protocols.
  • Prepare and process biological samples for analysis under the guidance of senior research staff.
  • Perform routine lab maintenance tasks and ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures.

25% - Data Entry & Data Management Support

  • Enter, organize, and maintain research datasets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with routine data quality checks and flag discrepancies for review.
  • Maintain data documentation and support general data management activities.

40% - Research & Analysis Support

  • Assist with compiling and organizing data for analysis by senior staff.
  • Support preparation of basic tables, figures, and summaries for internal review.
  • Perform simple, routine data tasks using established methods; interpretation and final analysis are completed by senior team members.

10% - Literature & Documentation Support

  • Conduct literature searches and provide high-level summaries for team review.
  • Maintain organized records of literature and reference materials.
  • Assist with documentation of research activities.

10% - General Project Support

  • Perform other routine research-related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in team meetings and support coordination of project activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks.
