Due to being awarded the Major Programme Partner (MPP) and the Asset Renewal Partner, Costain have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager in order to support the successful delivery of the baggage handling facility within Terminal 2 under the Heathrow H7 framework, working within a constrained, highly sequenced programme.
Costain is the Major Programme Partner (MPP) and the Asset Renewal Partner (ARP) for Terminals 1 and 2, two of six major programmes of work that Heathrow has committed to deliver within the H7 quinquennium.
Within the MPP framework, Costain is the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer for the T2 Baggage Programme (T2BP), which is a £700m+ complex baggage and infrastructure programme.
This consists of principally two elements: extending the life of, protecting and providing alternative facilities for the existing Terminal 2 baggage operation currently run from Terminal 1; and designing, constructing, testing and bringing into use a new Terminal 2A baggage system.
You will be working as the Tranche 5 Operational Project Manager responsible for all construction delivery operations undertaken both at day and at night on T2BP programme.
Your role will be to lead, plan, liaise, organise and oversee all logistics associated with our supply chain and Alliance Partners (Beumer, Fujitsu, AviBC) and acting as the principal contact for them and the Heathrow Client team which includes HAL Operations, Engineering, HAL 3rd parties, plus other Tier 1 suppliers.
The Works is to be undertaken on numerous levels within Terminal 2, and externally at Starlight Light Point (SLP) compound, and at various Delivery Marshalled Zones (DMZ) airside, and at HAL’s offsite Colnbrook Logistics Centre (CLC).

Responsibilities

developing, maintaining and owning the T2BP Logistics strategy in line with the Employers Requirements and Costain policy and procedures.

represent the T2 Baggage Programme at Logistics meetings with the other Heathrow strategic programmes and partners.

co-ordinate with HAL CLC and suppliers/partners to ensure all Fulcrum booking and site deliveries are achieved as per the project requirements

co-ordinate logistics planning across the suppliers, partners and others at Heathrow

collaborate with Heathrow Central Logistics Team
-
develop, implement and run logistics for deliveries, moving materials to the agreed work face zones both (horizontally and vertically), and site waste management which includes waste collection points near the works faces and removal of waste from site

work with the construction teams to plan, agree and coordinate all logistics compounds, DMZ’s, laydown areas and localised waste collections points

ensure consistent approach and processes are in place for Waste Management on site and Temporary Traffic Management

co-ordinate all Temporary Traffic Management required for the project

provide support and guidance to subcontractors/partners on the HAL Fulcrum and logistic requirements in line with the Employers Logistic Requirements, Process and Procedures.

logistics performance reporting – all workforce forecasting, Logistics Dashboard and to update presentations at progress meetings

all the planning, co-ordination and implementation of all the logistics needs on the project

will be the primary point of contact for all logistics and waste management operations.

develop and manage a material movement process that controls and tracks bookings/requests/interfaces for horizontal and vertical movements and operations across the various work sites

manage on site Logistics personnel and associated plant, and all site access and egress control

liaise with HAL for all aspects of site Welfare facilities, site Workforce numbers/forecasts

promote, champion, and implement all best practices, safety management, and safety initiatives across all site delivery aspects, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
