Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a new trainee lawyer with an interest in and affinity for technology. We have space in our IP (patent) team for an enthusiastic team player who is attracted to working in an informal and open atmosphere. We have a friendly team that works together actively and very openly, and we would like to keep it that way.
Who are we?
Pinsent Masons is a large international law firm with its roots in the United Kingdom. Five years ago, we opened our Amsterdam office, and since then, the office in Amsterdam has grown rapidly, both in the number of practice groups and their size. That is why, three years ago, we moved to a beautiful, new, and sustainable location next to the RAI and close to the Amstel.
We distinguish ourselves from other international law firms through our “one team approach”: many cases are handled by lawyers from different countries with a lot of direct contact between lawyers of all seniority levels. This high degree of international integration not only brings legal depth and variety, but is also simply a lot of fun, with the opportunity to occasionally work at one of our other offices as well.
The atmosphere at Pinsent Masons internationally and in Amsterdam is very informal, and the culture is focused on collaboration. This is reflected not only in the handling of cases but also in the room provided for entrepreneurship and personal development.
The IP & Patent Team
The intellectual property team at Pinsent Masons is among the largest in Europe, with renowned teams in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and other European countries, and we have the ambition to grow further. Our team advises and litigates regarding all aspects of intellectual property in a large number of sectors, including pharma, chemistry, telecom, and numerous other sectors.
The patent law team in the Netherlands handles primarily international cases across the entire breadth of patent law, ranging from life sciences to the manufacturing industry and from specialty chemicals to everyday consumer products. We actively litigate before the UPC – and almost always in composite international teams – but certainly also still frequently before the Dutch courts and the European courts.
At the moment, we are a close-knit team of five lawyers, and we are looking for a colleague who fits well into our team.
Trainee Lawyer (0-3 years of experience)
We are looking for a trainee lawyer with a demonstrable interest in patent law and the ambition to further specialize in this field. In addition, you have an interest in the commercial aspects of a growing practice and enjoy working with the team on publications, further practice development, and thought leadership.
