Overview
You will join the Risk Management Department of Intesa Sanpaolo Assicurazioni, within the Non-Life Risk office, where you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing natural catastrophe risks (earthquake, flood, hail, and landslide) for the insurance portfolio. You will contribute to the development of quantitative models, scenario analyses, and stress tests, supporting ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) processes, underwriting strategies, and reinsurance programs.
What your activities will be
• Assess and monitor natural catastrophe risks (earthquake, flood, hail, landslide) related to the Intesa Sanpaolo Protezione insurance portfolio.
• Analyze exposure to natural risks, identifying risk concentrations and territorial accumulations.
• Use and develop catastrophe models to estimate expected losses, extreme losses, and capital impacts.
• Perform scenario analyses and stress tests to support Risk Management activities and the ORSA process.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Actuarial, and Reinsurance functions in defining risk assumption and mitigation strategies.
• Support the design and optimization of reinsurance programs through quantitative analysis of catastrophe risk.
• Monitor key risk indicators (KRI) and prepare periodic reporting for management and control bodies.
• Analyze the impacts of catastrophic events on the insurance portfolio and prepare post-event assessments.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Solvency II) related to catastrophe risks.
• Contribute to the evolution of risk assessment methodologies by integrating new data sources, analytical tools, and predictive models.
Who we are looking for
If you have the following characteristics, we are waiting for you:
- at least 3 years of experience in the role
- degree in Physics, Engineering, Geology, Seismology, Mathematics, or Statistics
- experience in the analysis and assessment of natural catastrophe risks
- experience with specific software for natural catastrophe risk assessment
- Moody's-RMS software suite
- knowledge of major programming languages
- experience in consulting firms, insurance companies, or reinsurance brokerage
- good knowledge of the English language
Experience in development, validation, or pre-application processes of Internal Models for calculating the Solvency Capital Requirement for natural catastrophe risks is considered a plus.
