Working in close collaboration with the Head of Content, content leadership, and franchise leadership, you will help ensure a consistent player experience, a strong narrative identity, and a shared writing culture across projects, while respecting the creative autonomy of the teams.
This role acts as a strategic and architectural reference for common narrative foundations. You will partner with the creative and narrative directors of each project, who remain responsible for the creative vision, quality, and final narrative experience of their games.
What you will do:
- Define a long-term narrative vision aligned with the brand's identity, tone, and strategy.
- Establish fundamental narrative principles that guide the evolution of the shared narrative universe.
- Align project narrative directions and franchise stakeholders around a shared vision.
- Design and lead shared narrative systems, including the canonical narrative universe, cross-project character arcs, and narrative frameworks.
- Ensure the consistency, credibility, and scalability of the narrative ecosystem across the brand.
- Support projects during intentional narrative deviations when required by their specific vision.
- Develop and maintain a narrative roadmap aligned with the overall brand strategy.
- Support teams on issues related to staging, narrative pacing, and narrative integration into gameplay.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to think and structure narrative at a brand scale over the long term.
- Excellent understanding of player experience consistency, narrative identity, and brand strategy.
- Experience collaborating closely with game directors and creative directors.
- Influential leadership and the ability to align and mobilize without direct hierarchical authority.
- Strong skills in strategic communication and synthesis.
- Ability to disseminate and encourage narrative best practices in multi-project or multi-studio contexts.
- Good understanding of AAA game development processes.
- Strong interest in creative monitoring and reasoned narrative innovation.
What to send us
