Job Summary:
The Trust & Safety Project Team is responsible for protecting users from violations and malicious use, and building and maintaining an environment where Pairs can be used with confidence. We build a robust and scalable foundation that supports Trust & Safety operations including detection, prevention, investigation, and response. We contribute to service growth through user protection and improved reliability of Pairs.
This position is a Trust & Safety Engineer role within the Trust & Safety Project Team, dedicated to Trust & Safety projects.
Specifically, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving web frontends such as admin panels, operation tools, and dashboards so that internal teams operating detection, investigation, and response can make accurate and fast decisions. You will also design, develop, and operate backend systems that support these frontends. You will leverage insights gained in the field to improve the operational efficiency of countermeasures.
Additionally, you will continuously monitor and analyze data related to violating and malicious users, evaluate risks and impacts, and rapidly implement and improve mechanisms to support detection, prevention, investigation, and response, contributing to the suppression of malicious use and user protection.
You are expected to work closely with team members in the Trust & Safety domain and continuously improve the accuracy and operational efficiency of countermeasures based on insights and data obtained in the field. Through these efforts, you will contribute to creating an environment where users can use Pairs with confidence.
What You'll Do:

Design, implement, and improve admin panels and operation tools for internal operation teams handling detection, investigation, and response

Build dashboards and monitoring UIs that visualize risk indicators and the effectiveness of measures

Continuously improve UI/UX to enhance operational efficiency and decision accuracy in the field

Design, build, and implement scalable APIs and data processing infrastructure to support frontends

Design, develop, operate, and continuously improve mechanisms supporting Trust & Safety operations including detection, prevention, investigation, and response, adapting to evolving risk patterns

Independently monitor and analyze data such as user behavior, system logs, and measure results, evaluating risk indicators, trends, and the effectiveness of measures

Collaborate with Trust & Safety stakeholders, Data Analysts, product backend teams, SRE teams, security teams, and others to enhance quality, performance, security, and operability, contributing to the suppression of fraud and abuse, user protection, and improved reliability of Pairs
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience implementing web frontends (SPAs, etc.) using TypeScript (able to independently develop admin panels and internal tools)
- 3+ years of experience implementing, releasing, and operating commercial applications
- Experience building commercial Web APIs running on Public Cloud platforms such as AWS/Google Cloud
- Strong motivation for development efficiency improvements, performance optimization, and security measures
- Ownership and communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders and achieve results
- Willingness to learn about AI and experience developing with Coding Agents
- Experience building and designing various testing methodologies
- Experience creating and operating commercial container images for web applications (dockerfiles, middleware installation, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of middleware commonly used in web applications such as Nginx and MySQL
- Japanese: Business level or above; English: Conversational level or above
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in rapidly changing risk domains such as fraud, abuse, and policy violations, where you independently analyzed data such as user behavior, system logs, and measure results, evaluated risk indicators and trends, and continuously improved detection, prevention, and response mechanisms
- Ability to independently extract, aggregate, and analyze data within a certain scope with support from Data Analysts as needed, and evaluate the scale of issues, priorities, appropriateness of measures to implement, and effectiveness of initiatives
- Experience in environments where target user behavior and risk patterns change continuously over short periods, where you independently analyzed and evaluated, and connected results to development and improvements
- Experience and knowledge in designing databases and applications with scalability considering large-scale data and access volumes
- Experience leveraging AI development support tools to improve development workflows, code quality, documentation creation, and team productivity
- Experience building deployment scripts and dockerfiles in container environments
- Experience or knowledge in infrastructure construction on Public Cloud platforms such as AWS/Google Cloud
- Knowledge of basic security measures and their necessity in web applications
