Job Description
We are looking for a Community Developer in Montreal who will be responsible for establishing and developing our communities around Ubisoft games. You will need to master communication with players, game improvement and feedback cycles, as well as the deployment and maintenance of best practices. You will lead the global community strategy for a specific brand (March of Giants), develop and implement global plans, and work with a decentralized international team whose goal is to build relationships and earn the trust of players worldwide, thereby contributing to our global business growth opportunities.
This position will also involve mentoring members of cross-functional teams, facilitating collaborative planning and implementing engagements to high quality standards. As a member of the global community team, this role will be integrated with key development studios.
The main missions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Develop and implement community strategic plans through various content tactics that support production objectives and strengthen the overall marketing strategy.
- Develop and grow existing communities in line with broader business objectives.
- Coordinate communication, activities and initiatives with multiple international departments to ensure message consistency and uniformity.
- Leverage Community Managers, cross-functional teams and relevant partner resources to create relevant content for our players (e.g.: blogs, podcasts, interviews, infographics, etc.).
- Act as a spokesperson for the brand(s) assigned to you. Coordinate community-focused events, including but not limited to: fan visits to studios, developer dialogues and tournaments.
- Collaborate with the portfolio social media manager to define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to content, to demonstrate the success and return on investment (ROI) of community programs and content.
- Support key internal and external milestones, such as beta versions and launches, to ensure KPI compliance and advocate for player experience.
- Act as the primary representative of player needs within production and publishing teams to positively influence development and communication positioning on behalf of our players and business objectives.
- Establish player feedback cycles and provide relevant insights to production and publishing teams to influence gaming experience, foster player retention and contribute to message positioning and marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate and coordinate with live service teams for post-launch communication. Set expectations regarding relevant situations, such as update content, status and delivery.
- Manage and produce internal reports on community feedback, activity and expectations.
- International travel may be required.
This position will be part of multiple cross-functional projects, in collaboration with Community Manager, marketing, production and video editing teams, among others.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM
Intermediate experience in online community management and the development of strategic plans or programs, with proven results in a professional context. Solid experience in the video game industry, across multiple platforms, would be a major asset. Experience in social media marketing or digital content creation (videos, photos, podcasts, etc.) is also a major asset.
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of or strong interest in March of Giants
- In-depth knowledge of social media (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, Discord, etc.) is required.
- Experience working in a demanding production environment, with multiple deadlines, success metrics and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of creating and maintaining growth in video game communities, as well as developing and implementing strategic player engagement plans.
- Proven experience collaborating with various stakeholders to analyze and implement player feedback.
- Having worked on an AAA title in continuous service is a major asset.
- Fluency in French
