Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer for a 12-month fixed-term contract position based in Hastings, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our procurement team, ensuring efficient and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services for our organisation.

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimise cost savings and improve supplier performance
  • Analyse market trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions
  • Manage supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfil their procurement needs
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
  • Prepare and present procurement reports to management
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles
  • Proficiency in procurement software (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
  • Understanding of market trends and pricing strategies
  • Professional certification (CIPS) is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

This role has a salary of between £38,560 and £45,000 plus our flexible benefits package.

We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 2/3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
