Job Description

As an Associate Technical Director at Ubisoft Montreal, you will support production teams in creating and implementing technical systems and game features. You will act as a technical reference point within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with design, programming, and production teams to ensure the quality, stability, and consistency of game tools and features.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with production teams to create and implement technical elements related to game features
  • Support teams by acting as a technical reference on specific topics
  • Contribute to improving tools, workflows, and production practices
  • Participate in data optimization and validation while respecting technical constraints
  • Perform advanced data debugging and resolve technical issues encountered in production
  • Provide recommendations to improve work methods and tools used by the team
  • Test new features and tools before deployment
  • Collaborate with game design and level design teams to prototype gameplay features
  • Design and implement complex technical game systems
  • Document technical processes and share best practices with relevant teams

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • Experience in game or level design with a strong technical component
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to different stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Collaborative approach and concern for user experience
  • Strong interest in game systems and technical tools
  • Knowledge of different game engines and platforms
  • Experience with 2D or 3D design software
  • Experience in programming or scripting
