About Tai Pawb
What is Tai Pawb?
Tai Pawb (meaning 'Everybody's Home' in Welsh) is a charity founded in 2005, based in Cardiff, Wales. The organisation promotes equality and social justice in housing across Wales, working to ensure that everyone has access to a safe, suitable, and affordable home regardless of their background or circumstances.
Tai Pawb operates as a membership organisation for housing associations, local authorities, and other bodies in the housing sector. Their work includes policy advocacy, training delivery, consultancy services, and the QED (Quality Equality Diversity) Award — a recognised accreditation that helps housing organisations demonstrate their commitment to equality and diversity best practice.
Where will I work?
Tai Pawb is headquartered in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. The team works with an office-first approach, based in Cardiff with regular travel across Wales to deliver training, attend meetings, and work with member organisations. Cardiff offers a vibrant, affordable city with excellent transport links, a strong cultural scene, and proximity to the Welsh countryside and coast.
What is the team like?
With approximately 27 employees, Tai Pawb has a dedicated team of housing specialists, equality advisors, policy officers, trainers, and support staff. The team shares a deep commitment to social justice and the belief that housing is a fundamental right. Many team members bring lived experience of the communities they serve, adding authenticity and depth to the organisation's work.
The culture is collaborative, values-driven, and rooted in the Welsh language and culture. Tai Pawb actively promotes bilingualism and welcomes staff from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the inclusive values at the heart of its mission.
Work-Life Balance
Tai Pawb operates a 4-day working week at full pay, demonstrating that even mission-driven charities can adopt progressive working practices. The compressed schedule gives staff a three-day weekend every week, supporting personal wellbeing and helping prevent the burnout that can affect workers in the social justice sector. The office-first approach provides structure during working days while the extra day off offers genuine rest and recovery.
