Human Resources (HR) provides support on all people-related issues for Network Rail. We’re responsible for creating an environment that attracts and engages high-performing individuals to deliver engineering and operational excellence for Britain’s railway. Our approach is a pragmatic one, challenging where appropriate and professional in all areas of delivery.

We are seeking a Reward Business Partner to provide expert advice and guidance on employee benefits to the HR community, deliver a job evaluation service to the business, and lead on small to medium scale projects.

What are the key accountabilities in this role?

·Provide advice and guidance to HR and the wider business on reward initiatives and processes and keep updated with legislation and subsequent changes to keep end users updated.

·Investigate, review and respond to requests regarding organisational design principles, proposed organisational structure changes and roles, job descriptions and the job evaluation process to enable HR colleagues and managers to make informed decisions.

·Manage the assurance process of job evaluation, so that HR colleagues and line managers are supported through the end-to-end process, and the job evaluation process operates effectively and efficiently.

·Establish and maintain key stakeholder networks within HR and the wider business community so that a consistent and professional service is provided in all aspects of reward.

·Maintain job evaluation databases and records, including assurance and compliance, validation, monitoring and on-going analysis so that the information is correct and up-to-date.

·Monitor allocated supplier contracts, including responding to queries and issues and escalating as necessary, analysing data and reporting on trends and insights, and coordinating and attending review meetings, so that the product / service is provided in line with the contract and any changes or improvements are identified and progressed.

·Manage allocated reward policies, including providing advice and guidance to HR colleagues, line managers and employees, reviewing and updating to reflect changes in legislation or business needs, and providing governance and assurance, so that the policies remain up to date, are accessible and correctly implemented.

·Develop and deliver presentations, briefing sessions and workshops to HR and the wider business on a range of topics to enhance knowledge and understanding of reward practice.

·Manage small to medium reward related projects on behalf of the reward specialists, using expert reward knowledge to input into the recommendations to the business.

What essential skills and experience are we looking for?

·Proven experience of working in partnership and building strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to improve people management.

·Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice HR solutions

·Experience of coaching and influencing senior managers.

·Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation.

·Working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

·Some experience of Reward and Benefits.

·Substantial experience in producing management information

·Working knowledge of job evaluation would be an advantage
