How you will make a difference:

• Develop and lead a high-performing team of 2.
• Mentor and coach team members to foster professional growth and career development, ensuring alignment with both individual goals and organisational objectives.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to provide feedback, address concerns, discuss career aspirations, ensuring a clear path for personal development.
• Manage team performance by setting clear performance standards, conducting performance reviews, and providing constructive feedback to help team members meet and exceed expectations.
• Design and implement BI software and systems, including integrating databases, data warehouses, and BI tools with existing business processes.
• Lead the development and execution of data analytics products to enhance decision-making across the organisation, focusing on optimising operational efficiency and unlocking new business opportunities.
• Establish and enforce BI standards and best practices for data analysis, visualization, and reporting to ensure consistency and quality across all data-driven initiatives.
• Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and translate these insights into actionable business strategies.
• Collaborate with business units and IT teams to define business requirements and system specifications, ensuring that BI solutions are aligned with business goals and technology strategies.
• Advance the values of the organisation.

What will make you stand out:

• Extensive background with relevant Software Engineering experience and skills transferable to the position
• Strong, proven management experience in leading and managing a successful team within a similar industry environment
• Cloud Platform Technology (e.g., Serverless, Kenesis, Glue, Event Bridge, API Gateway)
• Cloud Native Patterns
• Test Automation, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery
• ETL/ELT experience
• Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Software Development practices
• Experience with agile methods and frameworks
• Understanding of access-control policies and data security mechanisms
• Self-motivated, inspirational, and committed
• Deep understanding of Business Intelligence tools and technologies, including data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Strong background in data modelling, data warehousing, and SQL
• Knowledge of data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Apache Airflow)
• Ability to translate complex data findings into strategic recommendations for business stakeholders
