About the team

Join our Finance Team in Romania, where you will play a pivotal role in managing Mambu's accounting team of 3 FTE and external accountants and report directly to our Group Head of Accounting, Reporting, and Controls.

You will play a vital role and be responsible for overseeing various accounting activities, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, performing month/quarter/year-end closing procedures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles, local regulations and reporting and tax filings. You will act as a partner and work closely with the AP, Finance Control, FP&A, tax/accounting service providers, local regulators and external auditors.

What you’ll do

• Coaching and developing a team of 3 professionals located in Iasi
• Act as the main contact person for stakeholders regarding accounting-related topics
• Timely Month/Quarter/Year-End Closing (IFRS and Local GAAP)
• Ensure Completeness of Expenses and Accruals. Review and analyse expenses to ensure completeness and accuracy. Identify any missing or improperly recorded expenses and make accruals if needed
• Payments Review and Approval. Check and approve payments, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls. Verify the accuracy of payment requests, supporting documentation, and proper authorisation
• Ensure about Tax Compliance Statutory Filing and Reporting (CIT, VAT, Statistical reports, etc.)
• Support Statutory Audit and Group Audits. Manage the annual statutory audit process, liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years of experience as a Manager in Accounting in an international environment
• People leadership experience (recruit, engage, motivate, develop)
• Strong engagement, presentation, and communication skills and enjoys working with people
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is a plus
• Very strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Experienced user of ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
• Customer-friendly attitude and excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and hands-on mentality
• Multi-tasking skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
• You have a strong team management skills
• Excellent Excel skills
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in additional languages such as Dutch, German, Spanish, Portuguese is a plus
