We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring the efficient handling of large-scale data processing and storage. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decisions and contribute to our overall data strategy. The ideal candidate must:

  • Design, build and clear, understandable, simple, clean, and scalable solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and database systems, managing data warehousing solutions using tools like Databricks, Spark, AirFlow, DBT, and Redshift, and ensuring adherence to data governance policies.
  • Design, build, maintain, and optimize Databricks solutions on AWS, developing scalable data processing solutions, implementing CI/CD processes for these solutions, and leveraging infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tooling to streamline data operations and enhance data solution deployments.
  • Implement data solutions using cutting-edge technologies like Spark, Python, Databricks, and various AWS services (S3, Redshift, EMR, Athena, Glue).
  • Mentor and coach fellow engineers on the team, fostering an environment of growth and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and address gaps in team capabilities and processes to enhance team efficiency and success.
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation with other team members to ensure coverage for critical systems.

What You'll Need

  • At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with 3+ years in a senior role, working on complex engineering projects across team boundaries.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, or similar languages.
  • Fluency in English. You should be able to communicate effectively through both spoken and written means.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable data platforms and reliable data pipelines using technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, AWS SQS, AWS Kinesis, Kafka, etc.
  • Comfort with modern back-end systems' building blocks, event-driven architecture, and the ability to articulate the pros/cons of different approaches with recommended solutions.
  • Deep understanding of data processing, comfortable working with multi-terabyte datasets, and skilled in high-scale data ingestion, transformation, and distributed processing.
  • Experience with the latest technologies and trends in Data and Cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with databases and analytics technologies in the industry, including Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, ETL, and Relational Databases.
  • Commitment to quality, you take pride in delivering work that excels in data accuracy, performance, and reliability, setting a high standard for the team and the organization.
