The Role

In addition to fostering career growth for individuals, Pathrise experienced 3x YoY growth with an 96% placement rate, with expanding tracks in various industries. With over 2,500 fellows placed everywhere from Facebook to Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Uber and startups, we are looking to expand our team in our sales track.

We are currently seeking Sales Mentors with current or recent previous experience at a FAANG (MAANG) company.

As a part time sales mentor, you will be responsible for fellow success by helping them develop their interviewing skills through a variety of online sessions. You will work cross-functionally with our career mentors and sales mentors to provide up-to-date, relevant information to help our fellows not only pass interviews but gain confidence in their abilities!

Note: we hire for part-time industry mentors and specialists on a rolling basis contingent on need, which fluctuates. We encourage you to apply and if your experience is a match later on, a member of our team will reach out when a spot opens up.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 hours of open availability on your calendar per week
  • You are excited at the chance to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of the newest generation of tech sales people!
  • 3+ years of experience as an account executive or sales leader in a medical or pharmaceutical sales role
  • Experience hiring, managing or training junior SDRs and AEs is a plus
  • Understanding of common CRMs and other tools/processes used in sales
  • Experience with teaching, career advising, and mentorship in an educational setting
  • Bonus points if you have any sales certifications
  • Prior start up experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-on-1 mentorship on your own schedule (minimum 5 hour commitment)
  • Mentors will need to familiarize themselves with the job search needs of our fellows, leverage existing Pathrise curriculum content and respond to fellows' emails
  • Work alongside other Pathrise Mentors and learn how to best meet the needs and learning styles of your fellows
  • Guide fellows through both technical and behavioral aspects of the job search
  •  Facilitate a thoughtful and inclusive environment for all fellows to learn and grow in their technical skills to achieve great results and land the job of their dreams!

  • Compensation for Industry mentor roles is paid on a per session basis, with sessions ranging from 30 min ad hocs to 1 hour workshops.

$50 - $60 an hour

Per-session compensation rates for 1 YOE @ MAANG:

$27.00 - 30 minute ad hoc session

$38.00 - 45 minute ad hoc session

$43.00 - kickoff session

$45.00 - workshop

Per-session compensation rates 2+ YOE @ MAANG:

$32.50 - 30 minutes ad hoc session

$46.25 - 45 minute ad hoc session

$51.25 - kickoff session

$55.00 - workshop

Rates are non-negotiable and include work done before, during, and after a session. Example: reviewing a fellow's information prior to the session, conducting the session, inputting notes after the session.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept applicants who are currently on an H1B visa, as this is a 1099 role.

*�The Pathrise Approach to Hiring

At Pathrise we have a unique understanding of the hiring process from the perspective of companies and candidates, and the ups and downs that come with it. Candidates are close to our hearts - we've been them, we coach them, we know them.

Our general full-time hiring process outlined below. Note: this doesn't apply to part-time roles which consist of an intro call + a 30-45 min final interview.

Application Stage

  • Our recruiting team reviews applications and responds to qualified applicants as quickly as possible.
  • Our ATS does not auto-reject in any way
  • Note that some part-time roles are listed in "Inactive - Resume Pool" status, meaning hiring happens on a rolling basis and may open unexpectedly.

Intro Call

  • In this 30 minute phone call, we aim to align on the role and answer your questions to ensure a mutual fit
  • Taking the next step in your career is a big deal! Ask whatever questions you need to ensure we're the right fit for you.
  • Candidates who advance will be provided with a helpful guide to support their candidate experience.

Skill Assessment or Hiring Manager Interview

  • For some roles, this is a 30 minute Google Meet interview with a hiring manager.
  • For other roles, this stage is a hands-on skill assessment that gives you a firsthand glimpse of what basic skills are needed to execute in this role, and how they'll be applied. It also gives us early signals on the more technical aspects of candidate fit.

Virtual Onsite (full-time roles only)

  • Candidates will meet with hiring managers and collaborators for further skill assessments and behavioral interviews.
  • Because this stage can take considerable time for all candidates and interviewers (1.5 - 3 hours), we are very intentional about how we conduct it and who we move forward. We do our best to be mindful of time commitments and candidate efforts, and will communicate if things change unexpectedly.
  • You'll receive guidance well in advance.

Reference Interviews (full-time roles only)

  • We'll ask for some professional references to follow up with.
