Sketchy is looking for a Creative Content Developer (CCD) that will be charged with spearheading the development of new visual learning materials. By aligning content and educational objectives through memorable, engaging creative assets, the CCD plays a key role in the overall development—from initial ideation to completion—of Sketchy’s core product. The CCD also supports content/creative requests across the company, which includes writing sparkling, captivating copy for our marketing, sales, and product teams.

Responsibilities:

Script and Visual Development

  • The Creative Content Developer is the sharp end of Sketchy’s scalpel. You’ll own the creation of our beloved visual lessons from the beginning, helping organize and/or create the medical basis and bring the lesson to MindSmelt, where Sketchy magic is made.
  • Create lessons, including background research and content development, and contribute to curriculum and course planning
  • Lead writing room in the development of lesson narrative and visual symbols to represent scientific information with the voice and personality of the Sketchy brand.
  • Follow best practices and guidelines to create memorable symbols, emphasizing the most important concepts for students.
  • Provide guidance for both the Art Director and associated artists in the development of layered art files that execute on the narrative scripts.
  • Direct creation of all audio/voice-over recordings to deliver on the creative vision for each lesson.

Post-production

  • Our producers, animators, and editors bring our lessons to life. You’ll work closely with them to define the look and feel of our content, honing and crafting the Sketchy voice.
  • Work with the Post-Production team, both in-house and external, in the assembly, finishing and packaging of all video and interactive content.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of high quality story and symbol concepts as well as all finished and packaged learning content within their designated curriculum pod.

Marketing and copywriting

  • You know the audience and you know our content. That makes you the best person to teach the world about Sketchy. You’ll work with our marketing, sales, and product teams to hone our customer-facing persona, and bring all that is special about Sketchy to a variety of platforms and media.
  • Work with our marketing, sales, and product teams to develop exciting, appealing copy for social media, email, enterprise sales, product announcements, and many other channels.
  • Respond to social trends and our engagement data to refine and improve our content marketing creative.
  • Present at webinars and conferences as a representative of Sketchy, building connections with students at all levels.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years experience in a creative development role including writing, editing and/or producing content relevant to your role. Marketing and/or copywriting experience preferred.
  • Strong administrative skills and able to effectively manage people through influence.
  • Able to multitask and manage a complex development schedule.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members while coordinating with remote employees.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Passionate about learning and making a positive impact on the world
  • MD/DO or equivalent (will consider candidates who have started but not completed a medical degree)

Salary Range

$50 - $60 per hour
