Wm Morrison Supermarkets Limited has grown from a single egg-and-butter market stall opened in Bradford in 1899 by founder William Morrison into one of the UK's largest grocery retailers, with nearly 500 supermarkets, 1,600 Morrisons Daily convenience stores and around 90,000 colleagues serving 11 million customers every week. The business is unusual in British retail in that it is also the UK's second-largest food manufacturer, with its in-house Myton Food Group preparing fresh meats, baked goods and ready-meals that go onto the company's own shelves under the "freshness from farm to fork" promise that has anchored the brand for over a century.
Where Will I Work?
Morrisons' Head Office is based at Hilmore House on Gain Lane in Bradford BD3 7DL, an easy commute from Leeds, Manchester and the Yorkshire Dales. The Bradford site has a free secure car park, walking tracks, an Amazon Locker, on-site dry cleaning and car valeting, a small shop for essentials and a canteen serving subsidised hot breakfasts and lunches first thing in the morning. Operations also run across nearly 500 supermarkets, 1,600 Morrisons Daily convenience stores, seven logistics sites averaging 1,029 deliveries to stores per day, and the Myton Food Group manufacturing network.
