Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia
Championing a just, equitable Nova Scotia by supporting and advocating for the Community Impact Sector.
Who we are
Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia (IONS), located in Mi’kma’ki, dedicates itself to supporting and advocating for Nova Scotia's Community Impact Sector.
As we celebrate a decade of fostering a healthy, sustainable sector, our journey, initially as the Community Sector Council of Nova Scotia, has evolved to meet the growing needs of our community. Funded by the Nova Scotia Government Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration, our mission is to address workforce challenges, build capacity within organizations, and enhance access to resources.
IONS is committed to a vision of a decolonized, just, and equitable Nova Scotia, embodying the values of justice, equity, diversity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDDI) in all its operations. By acknowledging our role in perpetuating systems of oppression, we strive to disrupt and dismantle harmful institutions, advocating for systemic change through education, collaboration, and advocacy.
What we do
At IONS, we champion the vital services and work of impact organizations across Nova Scotia, addressing systemic issues and social challenges. Our strategic priorities include educating and innovating to provide essential tools and knowledge, collaborating and activating connections across networks for systemic change, and advocating for the sector to increase its influence and contribution to societal well-being.
