Location: Salford (Home/Office - Hybrid)
Salary: £24,300- £31,300 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Introduction
We’re looking for creative and strategically minded YouTube Researcher to join our YouTube team within the BBC Children’s and Education department. This is an exciting opportunity to craft engaging content that amplify our BBC Children’s and Education brands, including Bitesize and Newsround, on the world’s biggest video platform.
You will be part of a team that is central to communicating our brand values, delivering our public service, driving reach and growth and supporting the launch of BBC programmes, services and initiatives across our BBC Children’s and Education YouTube channels.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, scripting and editing video content for Bitesize and Newsround YouTube channels.
- Repurpose existing BBC content into engaging YouTube content in shorts and longer form video formats.
- Schedule and upload content, creating engaging thumbnails and SEO optimised title and description metadata.
- Support the planning and set up of YouTube live streams.
- Help track content and channel performance using YouTube studio and analytics tools, looking out for trends and sharing insights with the wider team.
Are you the right candidate?
- Experience using editing and design software – ideally Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Understanding of YouTube content and what works for younger viewers, including top trends in news and education content for kids.
- Organised, proactive and up for pitching in whenever needed in a busy and fast paced team.
- Knowledge of YouTube products and features, including live streams, shorts and podcasting.
- A keen interest in data and audience research and how to translate it into creative ideas.
