Why We Need You
As we expand our marketing efforts, we need a talented web developer to design, build, maintain, and optimise our web presence. You’ll be part of our marketing team, working with Claire, Meagan and Diane to ensure our digital assets are top-notch and aligned with our brand strategy. You’ll also work closely with our engineering team, sharing best practices and developing your software engineering craft alongside the rest of the team. Your work will help us engage our audience more effectively, driving both customer acquisition and retention.

Picture Yourself In The Role
If you were here for this sprint, you would have:
- Designed and implemented a new landing page that visually communicates our latest campaign, collaborating closely with Diane (senior content marketing manager) on content
- Worked with Claire (director of marketing) and our SEO agency to plan out optimizations to our marketing site’s SEO
- Joined the marketing team daily standup, sharing updates on your work in flight, and aligning around the team’s goals for the week
- Refactored part of the marketing site codebase to make the code cleaner and easier to work with
- Paired with Irene (senior software engineer) on a pagespeed performance issue
- Attended the engineering team meeting and discussed how we can improve our technical practices
- Participated in a team ideation workshop around a new product feature we’re planning
Location
This role is open to candidates within Australia who are able to work AEST hours, or within New Zealand working NZST hours.
Salary
At Lyssna, we use a fixed salary formula to ensure compensation is fair and transparent. All team members with the same title and location start on the same compensation, and have the opportunity for salary increases based on performance.
As this is a new role, we are still calibrating the compensation and seniority level. For this role, we expect our Australian base salary for new starters to be around $125k AUD plus superannuation, profit share and ESOP. We expect our New Zealand base salary for new starters to be around $130k NZD plus KiwiSaver, profit share and ESOP.

The interview process
For this role, our interview process has four steps:
- Introductory call (online, 30 minutes): A conversation to discuss the role, the team and your relevant experience and suitability. This interview will be with Claire (Director of Marketing) or Nick (CTO).
- Technical interview (online, 2 hours): A technical interview comprising a coding exercise, a design exercise, and a series of technical questions. You’ll get to meet some of the other engineers on the team as part of this interview.
- Final interview (online, 1 hour): A conversation focused on how you work in teams, our company values, and alignment around expectations of the role. This interview will be with Claire (Director of Marketing) and Nick (CTO).
- Reference checks: We’ll speak with a couple of your references to answer any remaining questions we have around fit. We also conduct a police check for Australian residents (a requirement for SOC 2).
